Tech Lead Corner

Privacy

How Tech Lead Corner handles email subscriptions and site data.

What we collect

If you subscribe, we collect your email address, the page you signed up from, and the timestamps needed to record confirmation and unsubscribe requests. When you follow a repository link, we record the repository, destination URL, and time of the click. The site does not require an account and does not use advertising cookies.

Why we collect it

We use the email address to send occasional Tech Lead Corner updates about AI projects. We use repository-click records to understand which projects are useful and to keep the publishing system healthy. We do not sell subscriber addresses or share them for anyone else’s marketing; the service providers below process them only to run the site and send its email.

Service providers

The site is hosted with Amazon Web Services. Email is sent through Amazon SES. We store this information with AWS in the United States (Oregon). The public site is delivered through Amazon CloudFront.

To help tell people from automated sign-ups, pages with the sign-up form use Cloudflare Turnstile. When such a page loads, Cloudflare collects signals from your browser and connection, including your IP address, TLS fingerprint, user agent and similar browser signals. Cloudflare processes them on our behalf to detect bots, and also, as an independent controller, to improve its bot detection. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Cloudflare states that it transfers data internationally under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Retention and control

Confirmation links expire after seven days, and unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after seven days, except where kept as abuse evidence (see below). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. To request deletion of your subscription record or ask a privacy question, email privacy@techleadcorner.com. We will handle a deletion request within 30 days.

If someone uses our forms to abuse the site or other people, for example by signing up addresses without their owners’ consent, we keep the records involved, such as the email addresses entered and the IP addresses used, as evidence. We use them only to investigate, block and respond to that abuse, and we delete them within 12 months unless they are needed for a legal claim. You can ask whether we hold such a record about your address or IP, or ask us to delete it, at privacy@techleadcorner.com.

To block abuse, we keep the IP address of each sign-up request for up to 90 days, then delete it automatically. We keep it with the time and the result of the request, not in the same record as your email address. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the sign-up form free of abuse. You can object, or ask us to find or delete the records for your IP address, at privacy@techleadcorner.com.

When you request any page or file on this site, our hosting provider (Amazon CloudFront) records an access log entry: your IP address, the time, the address requested (without its query string), the response, and your browser’s user agent. We keep access logs for up to 90 days to detect and investigate attacks on the site, then delete them automatically. Access is restricted to the site owner. Because each log file mixes many visitors, we cannot delete one person’s entries early; they expire with the file.

Repository-click records are retained for up to 13 months for aggregate reporting and operational review, then deleted. Unsubscribed subscription records are retained only as long as needed to prevent an accidental re-subscription and to maintain suppression records. Automatic deletion of subscription and repository-click records can take a few extra days, and database backups keep deleted records for up to 35 days before they expire.

Tracking and changes

The site does not change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals, and we do not track you across other sites. Two third parties may collect information from your browser on this site: Cloudflare, through the Turnstile check described above, and Google, through the YouTube player on video pages. The player loads from Google’s servers when you open a video page, so Google receives your IP address and browser information. It runs in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and Google’s privacy policy applies to it. If we change this policy materially, we will update the date below and, for subscribers, mention the change in the next email.
